48 days!!

Jason and I went to our prepared childbirth class this weekend.

There were videos. And blood. Poor Jason.

All in all, I actually knew a lot more than I thought I did.  It was nice to get some insight into the policies and procedures at the hospital. It gave me a better idea of what to expect (from that side of things). I was disappointed to find out that they don't even have private bathrooms and showers in the l & d rooms. I knew they didn't have birthing tubs but it would be really nice if they at least had showers.  After going through a spinal tap and years of migraines, sitting in water is a measure of pain control for me.  This just means that I will have to stay home during early labor and find other coping methods once we go to the hospital and I am in active labor.  I at least have my exercise ball that I can use.  That is if it will even fit in the room. One of the rooms we toured was so small it was like the chair for dad was just an afterthought.

I can't believe it is almost October and our little gal will be here in a month and some change!! We got some more baby goodies in the mail last week and I thought I would share.  We are sure blessed to have such wonderful friends and family who have thought of us and bought things for our little girl.

Super cute lamp from my mom.

Quilt my grandma made.

We chose the owl theme early on but now it is actually really fitting because she is our little night owl. I sure hope that isn't the case after she is born!

Clothes!!

These socks feel so soft and warm. These will be perfect for the ND winter.

Super cute shoes from cousin Cait!

Nice warm boots from great grammy.

Random shot of our pack-n-play that I put together.

Our gently used boppy and chair. Sometimes you can find some great steals on Bisman!

Bouncer. Yay for consignment shops!!

Swing that goes with bouncer.

Extra cute play mat/tummy time mat we got from my friends Liz, Jess, and Trina.  I can't put it together yet because Miss Honey will make it hers if I don't keep it hidden or put up. She thinks anything soft on the floor is there for her use. Usually as a pillow.

Infant car seat. We got a nice dark neutral color so we can hopefully use it again for the next kiddo.

Our wonderful friends Terri and Danny gave us their daughter's gently used convertible car seat!
Random picture from a few weeks ago. I've been doing my best to keep up with WOD's during the week and have been following CrossFit Mom. This picture though was from a special WOD we did called Bugaboo and it is to raise money for SMA. My shirt says WOD'n for Two and has two tiny little feet on the kettle bell.

Just because I love you all I will give you a sneak peak of something we picked up for her newborn photos.
We weren't going to get one because they were all a little pricey on Etsy but we found a local gal who makes them for a really great price. I love how it turned out!

32 weeks!

I have been feeling a little overwhelmed the last few days.  We have 8 weeks left and so much stuff to buy still and it is hard to see how we are going to pull this all off. Did I mention we only have 56 days to go??!  She's measuring a little big too and I have a feeling she might be a little early or right on time. She has gone through a major growth spurt in the last week. I went from a cute little bump to basketball smuggler!  It is intimidating but at the end of the day as long as we can feed her, clothe her, and love her then we will be okay. I am incredibly thankful for such an amazing and supportive husband. He has been so understanding this pregnancy and he is going to be such an amazing father. My heart just melts when he kisses my belly every morning and night and tells his unborn daughter how much he loves her.

Here are a few quick photos.

Photo-bomb!! Aspen's room and nursery art

I just finished a little project in Aspen's room and I love the way it turned out.  I found some really cute elephant art files and wanted to make some personal prints for her room. I also found some other prints I liked and printed them out. This project was extremely cheap. I used some old picture frames that we had on hand and painted them with some paint from another project. Here are some pics of the art print projects as well as some shots of her bedding and of a few cute outfits that we/Grandma/Great Grandma have all bought for her.

Below are lyrics from another JJ Heller song.

This child has more clothes than both her mommy and daddy. We got some clothing from a gal on the base who had a baby girl last November.  Most of it is sleepers and we probably have enough sleepers from 0-3 months to change her a few times a day.

My right hip went out over the weekend and it has left me wobbling around for days. Thankfully, I had an appointment with my chiropractor so hopefully I start feeling better soon. I am beyond thankful to be carrying this sweet blessing in my belly but mommy sure needs more than an hour of sleep a night. I made the mistake of trying to turn over and got stuck halfway with my bad hip throbbing like it was on fire.  I also finally got the results of my toe nail biopsy.  Basically, they use a oral medication to treat it and I can't take the medication until I am A)Not pregnant and B)Not breast feeding. Provided that B goes as planned, then I guess I will have ugly toes for a long time. I apologize to all of you. I can only go so long without wearing sandals.   I didn't get this until after I got pregnant so I'm secretly hoping when all the hormones go back to  normal that things will get better.

We have a lot of big things going on this month. We have our prepared childbirth class and we are also going to get a 3D ultrasound so we can see our sweet girl again. Some days it feels that this pregnancy has gone by so slow, partly because I found out almost immediately but other days it seems to go so quickly. By the end of next month, we need to be ready to go and have everything ready for her. I came about 4 days early so who knows when Miss Aspen will make her appearance.

30 weeks!!

I am just over 30 weeks now and we are so excited to meet our baby girl!! 10 more weeks sounds like a long time until we consider that we need to have things ready to go by 38 weeks and that will be the end of October.

I've been nesting in other ways lately. Sadly, it doesn't always involve cleaning my house but I have been really into other projects lately.

Here is one project we did this weekend:
When we saw how expensive wreaths are we just decided to make our own. It has some Aspen leaves tucked into it and I just love it. When I say we, yes my hubby actually helped. He's got a good eye!!

We also worked in the nursery this weekend. We finally got the shelves painted and put up. I keep changing the arrangement of things but this is what the shelf tree looks like with shelves.  The second photo is the diaper cart and dresser with the bins for extra storage.
This dresser is probably older than I am. I used it in my bedroom when I was growing up and we made it into a tv/entertainment stand.

We decided to only use one of the letters we painted and I dolled it up with some of the extra leaves that came with the birch trees.  To the right is the birch tree mobile.  The wood is carved into little flowers and it has lace on the top.
My beautiful diaper bag that my hubby got for me. He said he won't mind carrying it because it is for our daughter. I'm betting that he will end up using one of his camo packs instead.
I'm also working on restoring an old window frame that we are going to put up inside.  The paint was weathered and chipping (which was part of the charm) but I was worried about it flaking off everywhere, especially with a little one on the way. I also wasn't sure what type of paint it was so we stripped it and cleaned it all up.

We also put up her regular bookshelf with all of her books but I have some artwork changes to make so I will post those photos once I get all of that finalized.

Here is one more photo just for fun. I have been looking for some really cute printable elephants and messed around with this one today.  The room started out with an owl theme but it is more of a nature theme now with some owl items mixed in and now I'm finding myself just loving elephants.  We have  a few sleepers and some swaddling cloths that have elephants on them.
Oh and here is a picture from 29 weeks 6 days.
